I have been seeing so many woman with cute boots on this winter. I currently do not own a pair of boots. My daughters all have a pair of suede boots but not me. My youngest daughter actually has two pair of suede boots. Lucky duck! It has been raining here all day and now is when I was wishing for some boots. I hate when I go out in the rain and get my good pair of shoes all wet. There is nothing like having wet socks and shoes on.

Did you know that Converse makes boots? I am a fan of there sneakers and just recently learned they have a line of work boots too! That is so cool. I am going to have to go shopping soon and buy me a pair. One of the reasons I have not bought a pair in the past is my husband thinks woman look funny in boots. I am going to say oh well and buy some anyway. There are too many cute boots I am missing out on owning.

When I bought my SUV last year, I made sure I bought the extended warranty. Right now is about time that I am going to have to bring it in the shop for repairs. There is something wrong with the defroster, so it is becoming harder and harder to see out the windshield when the weather is bad. Today was one of those days I wish my defroster worked. I took a peek at my warranty and it should be covered from what I read. The only part is taking my SUV to the shop and leaving it there. This is my only vehicle that fits my whole family of six. There always is the option of renting a car but that is not something I can afford right now. I have rented quite a few cars before and always end up spending at least a couple hundred dollars just for a day or two.

Buying an extended warranty is really important, especially if you are buying a car from a car lot that is not brand spanking new. You just never know if you are buying a lemon. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be out of pocket if my engine decides to take a dive and die. Either that or my transmission. Those two things are pretty costly to replace. For instance if you are buying a used Honda from a dealership, make sure to get a Honda extended warranty.

Chocolate is something that I just cannot give up. I absolutely love chocolate in all forms. I recently got some chocolate scented body scrub and lotion because I love it so much. There are other sweet candies that I love too.  Some of my favorites when I was a kid was the rock candy. I used to think that stuff was just so neat. There was this little candy shop here in Folsom that carried it. I thought it was a treat when my mom would take me there to buy me some. My other favorite hard candy as a kid was the Jolly Ranchers. I have to admit that those are still one of my favorites.

I also have many memories of seeing the bulk candy in the grocery store when I would go shopping with my mom. It was so tempting just to open one of those bins and grab a piece. My mom taught me young that I was not to take even one piece. What was cool is one of the brands of bulk candy had a little coin box. You could drop in a nickel and grab a piece or two. I think they might still have that around but I am not positive.

I have been thinking of different ways I could lose weight. I want to lose 10 to 15 pounds but exercise seems like something I don’t have time for. I am kind of thinking of finding a good exercise DVD or something. I remember trying different ones years ago but none of them kept my attention. My daughter just recently broke her reading glasses at school. She forgot to put them in the case and they broke in her backpack. I was looking online tonight at different sites that sell affordable prescription glasses. I found that Zenni Optical offers very affordable eyeglasses at some great prices. Even The New York Times recommends using them for at least back up glasses, view the article here.

Their prices start at $8 and up. I found a very cute pair I have pictured here in this post that are only $29.95. I just love the flowered print with the pink on them. They have a great selection of glasses for children too. I need to have my daughter take a peek at the site and see if she likes any. She had this other pair in mind that are kind of expensive that I would like to avoid getting.

With the times the way they are, we need to start saving money when we can. I wish I could have all the money in the world, but that will never happen. I am using coupons, recycling and doing whatever I can to cut back costs! I am also trying to get the kids to turn off the lights in the house when they are not using them!

I have always wanted to own a nice aquarium with some exotic salt water fish. I remember my mom taking me to the pet store and I would always ask for a fish from the salt water tank. She used to tell me they were too much maintenance. Ever since, I have always thought of salt water fish as high maintenance too!

That doesn’t stop me from wanting to own some. I plan on it in the future when my children are a little older. I need to read and learn about the fish before I can buy them. Hopefully it isn’t too complicated. I sure wouldn’t want to buy a bunch of fish and not know how to take care of them.

I found a store online that you can buy buy salt water fish and more. You can even buy live coral. Reef Hot Spot has some neat looking fish. The even ship your fish overnight. It carries more of a variety than my local pet store. It is a must see source for aquarium saltwater fish. Looking at the fish online is almost as fun as seeing them in person.

I dread watching the news these days. I rarely see anything that puts a smile on my face when watching the news. I do hope that they pass one of those Stimulus packages this year. All I can do is hope and pray that it passes. I have a few bills I would like to catch up on. I am one that is seeing an effect of this so called recession we are in. I don’t let it get me down though.

For those of you involved in online businesses, has this recession caused your business to go downhill? If you have an online business and don’t have a way to accept credit cards, I would suggest finding a way. Many people are turning to their credit cards to make purchases because their cash flow is depleted or not coming. There are many out there taking loans for their businesses. I, myself have to avoid any types of loans because I want to prevent any more debt than I already have. For some though, loans are the only answer for survival. Some are turning to credit card factoring to get cash advances to make it till the next payday. Sometimes I wish I still had my part time job that paid all the bills and then some. Then again, I enjoy being at home with my family working my own darn hours!
