Since I am a frugal person who saves money, I use “free graphic programs” rather then shelling out a ton of money buying one. The internet has quite a few FREE programs out there to edit and create images that are just as good as the programs you can buy.

I have heard lots of other moms talking about the program Picnik. This is a free graphics editor that is fun to use. It has a bunch of neat effects and fonts to use with your photos. What makes this program even better is you don’t have to download anything. You can create and edit your images online, without even creating an account. Of course you can create a FREE account or go with their Premium service that gives you more options. I went online this morning and looked for different tutorials for this program and found a fun one called Picknik Hair Color Fun. I just had to try it out with one of my photos of me and my son. In just a couple minutes, I turned this photo:

Into this fun photo below:

Neato huh?

Of course there is WAY more stuff you can do with Picnik. Last night I used my logo on one of my blogs to create a cute button image. If you love to play with graphics, I recommend playing around with this free program. There are lots of other tutorials you can find online, especially on YouTube.

In the past, I have left blog comments in hopes of gaining some traffic and backlinks  to my blogs. I had downloaded this free program called Comment Kahuna when it first came out. I used it for a while but kind of forgot about it. I also cut back on the time I spent on reading blog posts and leaving comments. The last couple days I have been researching ways to increase traffic and decided to get back into the swing of posting comments on blogs. Now, I only will post comments on blog posts that I like and have something to say. I don’t post spammy comments as I hate when I receive them on mine. I like to create posts in hopes of the blog author returning a visit back to my site. I always enjoy receiving comments from those whose blogs I left a comment on first!

Last night I downloaded Comment Kahuna again. I have received emails from them with links to download the new and updated version of the program. I am really impressed with this program. It allows you to search blogs by keywords and post comments on the blogs it finds. You can also create profiles within the program for multiple blogs you own so you can change your information for each blog you are posting on. It is definitely a neat way to find related blogs in your niche. The best part is that the program is FREE!

Using PLR content is becoming more and more popular with many bloggers, webmaster, authors, etc. Using PLR helps many save time and money, allowing them to use their time focusing on other tasks than writing articles and reports. Last year I created a website to help those people learn more about PLR and help them find it. My site that I am referring to is www.MommyPLR.com.

I have been really reading into this topic lately. I plan on creating a full blown PLR content site in the near future and want to be able to provide my visitors some great advice and information on how they can use PLR on their websites. You would not believe the amount of information available on this topic. While reading some lens on Squidoo today about PLR, I came across a lens that explained PLR and also offered a FREE PLR ebook and PLR Rewriter. Of course I downloaded the ebook and the re-write program.

The free PLR Rewriter program is pretty basic but very useful. Instead of having Notepad or Word open twice, this program allows you to open your article and view it, as well as input your new changes. Your changes would be a new title, new intro, new summary, etc. I highly recommend checking this free program out if you are one that re-writes your PLR articles, like you should be doing. You don’t want to slap PLR content on your site or blog without making some sort of changes. That might get you slapped with the duplicate content penalty! That is something you DON”T want.

If you are still new to PLR, you might be interested in the FREE PLR ebook I found called “The PLR Process“. You might also want to grab it even if you are a PLR Pro. This free ebook covers exactly what PLR is and how you can use it in your business. You just never know when you might learn something new. I tend to learn many new things each day. I can’t stress how important it is to backup your data on your computer. I am not talking about everything on your computer, just the files that have value to you. I have switched computers in the past and have lost files and especially photos that I will never get back again. Ever since digital cameras came into play, I don’t use a regular camera that takes film that often. Now I did recently use some disposable cameras when I had my son in January. This is only because my digital camera needs a new cord. Anyhow, backing up your computer’s files you don’t want to LOSE is important.

I have been using a program called Mozy. It is a program you can signup for online that backups your computer for you daily. You can set it up to do backups whenever you want. If you don’t have that much to backup, Mozy is FREE. It is at no cost to you unless you want to backup 2GB ore more. If you have more than 2GB to backup, you can go with the Mozy Unlimited Backup for only $4.95 per month. I am backing up about 12GB per day. It is well worth the $4.95 per month. Plus, it is a tax writeoff if you are self employed. About a week after I installed it, I actually had to use a backup it had stored for me to retrieve lost emails. So after using it only a week, it came into use proving to be a well spent expense.

I am sure there are many other backup programs available online. This is one I highly recommend because I use it. I love it!

Do you have the need to resize images? I sell advertising online and you don’t know how many times people will email me images that need to be resized. I either have to make them smaller or bigger. I have tried to use another software program to do this, but the program will either crash or doesn’t resize it how I would like it. Do you blog? If you are a blogger like me, you can receive a FREE copy of PQ Talking Photo. To get a free copy, you must blog about it before Christmas. I think this software looks pretty cool. You can take any photo, drawing, sketch and animate it. Once I get my copy, I plan to have some fun with it and post some of the pictures on one of my websites.

I am always looking for a blog that I can post comments on. Not just any blogs though, blogs that I actually find interesting and enjoy reading the posts. Most of the blogs on my favorites list are those by moms, work at home moms, parents, etc. I recently downloaded a FREE program that helps you find high PR blogs to post to. The free program even has a browser that will open so you can post to the blogs one right after another. I have been testing it out the last couple days and have enjoyed using it.
